Learning System

The learning system used is a combination of classroom meetings held by teaching professionals and trained practitioners and out-of-class activities. For example, when the students visit the consultancy agency and experience a real ongoing construction project. The learning process in both the classroom and the studio uses problem-based learning (PBL).

The studio courses are designed to look similar to the professional practice so that students are used to the working world system. By giving problems in each planning assignment, students are expected to have sensitivity in searching, analyzing, and addressing these issues.  In order to train students’ skills in responding to the real situation in the field, the case studies in the design studio are presented contextually (site, policies, social condition and culture). The design and presentation standards for studio courses are in accordance with the ethical standards used in the professional world.

The learning process is performed interactively in the form of discussion where lecturers play a role as facilitators. Using this method, students actively seek information with the guidance of their lecturers.
